    Yeast beta glucan is usually a polysaccharide extracted from natural yeast cell walls. When yeast beta glucan enters the human body, it can be absorbed by macrophages on intestinal mucus through glucan receptors, which activates the macrophages and enables white blood cells to function and protect the body from harmful substances. For example, baker's yeast and brewer's yeast are two strains of brewer's yeast that both produce β 1,3/1,6-glucan, but the molecular structure of β-glucan extracted from baker's yeast cell walls is different from that of β-glucan extracted from brewer's yeast. The molecular structure affects the immunomodulatory capacity of β-glucan, so the source of β-glucan is critical.
